My career in Information Security began at Western Union in 2001. I held the first information security position in the company. During this time I built the company’s entire security program to ensure the safety of millions of transactions and customer data.
Since then I’ve held several positions in information security, primarily in financial services, at companies such as BNP Paribas and Broadridge. Throughout my various roles in the industry, I’ve ensured the security of funds and data, while also helping companies save millions of dollars through proactive and innovative application of security risk management.
Outside of the financial services industry I have worked in industries such as fire HVAC security equipment and controls at Johnson Controls and in blockchain technology at ConsenSys as the Chief Information Security Officer. I have also worked in gaming at America's #1 Online Sportsbook, FanDuel where I built a significant team across various disciplines to help FanDuel go public.
Throughout my career I’ve had the opportunity to work with a wide range of distributed teams and managing budgets and employees worldwide, while ensuring and advocating positive advancements in the Information Security space. In my current role at Infinite Realty as the VP of Information Security, I help secure the world leader in Immersive Web technologies.
My in-depth information security experience combined with my background, and innate ability to identify risk, and effectively communicate problems make me an ideal information security board member and partner.
A solid reputation for being able to communicate significant risk and risk management strategies to board members.
A lot of people like to the question "what do you do?" That question never really let me know who a person really is or what drives them. I think understanding what people do in their free time tend to let us know a little more about the essence of a person. Here are some of the things that I think help explain a little more of who I am.
I have been training Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu for a few years now and it’s been an incredible, life-changing journey. Under the instruction of Shihan Johnny Guerrero, Marcos Santos, and Master Rigan Machado I have been able to train with some great talent.
A few years ago Master Rigan extended an invitation to train for a week in Brazil and that was an experience of a lifetime. It was there I got to meet and learn from the likes of Kyra Gracie, Robson Gracie Jr., Renzo Gracie, and Demian Maya and that trip completely transformed my performance and deepened my appreciation for this gentle art in ways I didn’t expect.
In the real world, everything is a fight. The training we receive prepares us on so many levels for what a real fight even looks like let alone how to win it.

I grew up loving the beautiful game aka football aka soccer for as long as I could remember. When my son expressed an interest in the game, he was signed up for the next season.
The Soccer Association is mostly run by volunteers and I thought volunteering to coach was a way for me to give something back to the sport that gave me so much over the years. I have been coaching for several seasons now and it’s a privilege to work with these children and help them build skills that don’t just translate to the game, but to life. Everyone has a journey, but they don’t have to travel alone.
Coaching team sports is a great way to show young children that you can be great as an individual but to achieve your true potential, you need a team.

One of the things that really inspired me when I was young, and still inspires me to this day is video games. Being able to actually be part of the story was a different kind of medium than reading or just watching something on a screen. I was lucky enough to be part of the early evolution and revolution of gaming and got to feel what it was like to immerse yourself in a story.
From the original Zelda to more current titles like the Horizon Zero Dawn and Mass Effect series, I was able to be part of the story by playing. Some of these titles are some of the best original story telling I have had the pleasure to be a part of and feel almost sorry for folks who won’t experience it. There’s always hope that someone will pick it up and make it a successful show, like they have done with The Last Of Us.

We should be building teams that are ready for the world we live in and the world we want to make.
